Bringing
Knowledge to Precision Management
When it comes to modern, high yield crop production,
knowledge provides the insight to help you make the critical crop
production decisions that can spell a bigger bottom line. It's why
Hintzsche is offering a new knowledge-based program called NutriTrac.
Hz NutriTrac is a production insight tool
designed to correlate crop yield by field section or grid with soil
test values using the same GPS referenced grid scheme. The whole
idea is to begin to gain insight regarding the correlation between
soil chemistry values and the impact on yield.
NutriTrac reveals some of the fundamental
soil chemistry relationships that are critical in the pursuit of
high yield production. Equally important, NutriTrac raises
important questions. Why does one section of a field with certain
soil test numbers yield 20 bushels less than another field section
with similar soil characteristics? NutriTrac may not have
the immediate answer, but surfacing the question is the first step
toward finding the answer and identifying a crop production solution
that makes sense in terms of optimizing crop yield.
Start with the Basics
NutriTrac layers GPS yield data with GPS
soil test values. Other attributes such as hybrid or variety, plant
population, tillage practices, herbicide and insecticide application,
and VRT applications (N, P, K or lime) can be added.
Once the data has been electronically layered,
queries can be run based on the attributes collected. At this point,
your Hintzsche agronomist can help interpret how these correlations
affect yield. This insight and interpretation can provide you with
a powerful tool for increasing productivity of every field, acre
by acre.

Top Ten Yield Correlation Factors
To the right is an example of what we call
the "Top 10" yield correlation factors. NutriTrac
correlates the geo-referenced yield data collected with the
corresponding soil test values. It then identifies and ranks
the top 10 factors related to yield. In the example to the
right, note the extremely high correlation between Calcium,
Magnesium and the Ca:Mg ratio concerning their impact on yield.
Please note that this is just one example.
Data from another field will surface a different mix of "Top
10" factors and importance values.
